National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur
National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (NIT Jamshedpur) got established in 1960 as Regional Institute of Technology. It was established as a joint venture between Government of India and Government of Bihar. Dr. Srikrishna Sinha, the then chief minister of Bihar, laid the foundation stone of the university with the aim to set excellent standards of education.
The institute received a Deemed University status and got converted to National Institute of Technology in December 2002. NIT Jamshedpur works under the regulation of Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India.
The campus of National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur is located in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. Spread across a sprawling 350 acres of land, the campus provides all basic amenities to students and faculty including classroom facilities, central library, bank and atm facilities, healthcare, gymkhana, tennis court, cricket field, residential amenities, mess services, eateries etc. The campus also has 24/7 water-power-network supply.
The campus also provides accommodation, and guest house facilities to students, faculty, and other staff members.
