Junior Science Talent Search Examination (JSTSE) is an Indian scholarship examination, which has been conducted by the Science Branch of the Directorate of Education, Delhi since 2005. The exam is conducted every year usually in the month of December for the students of the recognized schools in Delhi.
Eligibility for JSTSE 2020:
- The student should be studying in a recognized school in Delhi (Govt. / Govt. Aided/ Public/ KV/ Navodaya/ NDMC).
- The student should be studying in class IX.
- The student should have secured minimum 65% marks in class VIII in the session 2018-2019.
- No income limit is prescribed.
There is no examination fee for the students appearing in JSTSE.
JSTSE consists of two papers:
- General Knowledge
- General Science and Mathematics

The minimum qualifying marks for JSTSE are 40% marks in G.K. and 40% Marks in Science and Math combined. The selection will be made on merit basis. The exam grants scholarship to 150 students every year.
The type of JSTS examination is Objective (paper-based standardized test).
The examination is conducted in two languages: English and Hindi

General Knowledge: The questions would revolve around Civics, Economics, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The section will also contain questions on current affairs, CEOs of the leading companies, History (mostly class 6th, 7th and 8th), various landforms and their locations, locations of wildlife sanctuaries, important articles of the constitution, autobiographies and biographies of famous personalities, name of famous players and their respective games, cyclones and other natural calamities, World Cup of Various sports, dates and name of winners, name of Chief Ministers and Governors.
Mathematics: Polynomials and Real Numbers
Biology: Climate, Ecological Biology, Evolution, Physiology
Physics: The wavelength of various lights, Mirrors (Convex, Concave and Plane), Refraction, Oscillations (pendulum, spring mass system etc.)
Chemistry: Empirical and Molecular Formula, General names of Chemicals, Covalent bonding, Name of general polymers and their uses, Fuels and Calorific value, Indicators, Environmental chemistry.
